Pentagón Jr. aka Penta el Zero M - Lucha Libre

This is Mexican luchador Pentagón Jr. aka Pentagón Dark aka Penta el 0M or Penta el Zero M (Cero Miedo, "Zero Fear").
And I think that next to La Parka, one of the coolest looking luchadors.
Penta el Zero M has worked for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), Lucha Underground, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and the Mexican wrestling promotion "The Crash".
He was born on February 26, 1985, in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico and was trained by Gran Apache and Teddy Hart.
He made his debut in 2010 as Dark Dragon and Zairus, but soon changed his name to Pentagón Jr.
As is the case a lot of times in Lucha Libre, wrestling is a family affair.
His father and two brothers are also professional wrestlers; Fuego, and Fénix and Niño de Fuego.

Gronda - The Most Popular Luchador in 2015

Yes the most popular luchador here in 2015 was Gronda.
This 6 foot tall, 220 pound beast beat out Máscara Divina, Angel Azteca Jr., Pimpinela Escarlata and Angel de Oro for the top spot.
But he has not only been Gronda.
He was also called Gran Master, Groond XXX, Gronda XXX and Groon XXX.
Although he is offically retired, he still pops up now and then in International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), Federacion Universal de Lucha Libre (FULL) and other wrestling promotions.

Triple AAA Luchador - Gronda

Not a lot is known about the masked luchador Gronda. I mean not a lot at all! We don’t know his real name, but we know when and where he was born...August 20th, 1960 in Mexico City, Mexico. I imagine this is because of some disclosures the wrestling promotions have to make to the Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F. (the Mexican commission of Boxing and Professional Wrestling)
Anyway, yep...Gronda will be turning 54 this year. But you wouldn’t know it by just looking at him. This guy is Batista/bodybuilder big. He's 6 feet tall and weighs 220 and it looks like all of that is solid muscle.
Gronda was trained by luchadors Flash, Aullido and Fuerza Guerrera. He has always wrestled masked. First as Maximo el Gladiador, then Drago, the El Magnate (once), then Luzbel and finally Gronda.
Actually there are two Grondas now, similar to the situation they had with La Parka and LA Park. And to tell you the truth...neither are really good wrestlers.
They are just REALLY big!

Octagón in the Hall of Fame

On December 11th, 2013, legendary Mexican luchador Octagón was inducted into the Hall of Fame in Miguel Hidalgo, D.F.
Octagón (Juan Escalera) has been wrestling December 1981 and in his 32 years in the ring has held a lot of titles.
This is his second such honor because in 2011 he was inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame.

Octagón was involved in one of the greatest Lucha Libre matches of all time when he and El Hijo del Santo took on La Pareja del Terror (the late Art Barr and the late Eddie Guerrero) at AAA When Worlds Collide on November 6th, 1994.
The event was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California and was sponsored by AAA and the WCW.

Atomic Boy - AAA Wrestling

Atomic Boy - AAA Wrestling

AAA Luchador Atomic Boy was born on September 11th, 1991.
He was trained by Dizzy, Gran Apache, Tom Mix Jr. and Mini Abismo Negro.
Atomic Boy made his Lucha Libre debut on November 20th, 2003 not as Atomic Boy, but as Mini Vaquero.
He wrestled under that name until switching to Mini Dizzy.
He adopted the name Atomic Boy in 2008.
Like a lot of other luchadors, he has a wrestling family.
His father is Tom Mix Jr. and his grandfather is (of course) Tom Mix who took their names from Hollywood’s first Western megastar.

I gotta admit, I liked his Dizzy costume better.

Polvo de Estrellas - Lucha Libre AAA

Polvo de Estrellas - Lucha Libre AAAIf you thought Pimpinela Escarlata was wild last time, wait till you get a load of Polvo de Estrellas.
"Star Dust" reminds me a lot of Goldust.
Hmmm...

Polvo de Estrellas - aaa wrestling - mexicoAnyway, Fidel (or Felipe) Alvarado is another Exotico who wrestles for the Mexican Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) wrestling promotion.
And like Pimpinela Escarlata, Polvo de Estrellas is not one to be taken lightly.
He was trained by luchadors Braulio Mendoza, Arturo Padilla, Gran Hamada, Karloff Lagarde, Abundio Radilla, Sordo Flores and Yamato.
He made his wrestling debut in 1987 and has wrestled under many identities like Adrian, Siniestro, Faces I, La Llorona Loca, Coco Rosa and Amadeus.

Amadeus for one is really cool looking...

Luchador - Extreme Tiger

Mexican luchador Extreme Tiger ("Gato Suicida"..."Suicidal Cat") currently works for the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración wrestling promotion in Mexico.
After being trained by the legendary Rey Misterio, Sr., Tiger made his Lucha Libre debut on September 13, 1998, in Salon Danubio Azul, Tijuana as Tyger Mask.
He joined Asistencia Asesoría y Administración in 2006, became Extreme Tiger and wrestled as a rudo (heel).
Staying in the mid-cards, he worked his way up and turned tecnico (face) in 2007.
After becoming a technico, he won the Alas de Oro tournament ("Wings of Gold", an eight-man elimination match with two wrestlers in the ring at the same time and the remaining competitors on the floor), and then later in the year, he went back to being a rudo.
As a rudo, he started tag teaming with Halloween and Juventud Guerrera.

So far in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, he has won the Alas de Oro in 2007, the AAA World Tag Team Championship with Halloween and the AAA Cruiserweight Championship twice.
As of this post, he is still the Champion.
Outside of AAA, he has held the Baja California Lighweight Championship and the NGX Extreme Championship twice.

He is a luchadore that works as a tecnico (face) for the Lucha Libre promotion, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
When he wrestled for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) he was a member of the stable "Real Fuerza Aerea".
Rey started wrestling at the age of 16, and was trained by Kaoma Jr., Atomico de Oro, Dragon De Oriente I and Dragon de Oriente II.

Pegasso

Pegasso (or Pegaso) was born on February 25, 1978 in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico.
He was trained by Gran Apache, Sombra Salvaje and Irasu.
Pegasso started out in the Indy wrestling promotions in Mexico until he caught the interest of Asistencia Asesoría y Administración.
He went to AAA in 2006 and joined a group called Real Fuerza Aerea.
Pegasso left AAA in 2008 and went to IWRG.
When Rey Cometa went to Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Pegasso went with him.
By all accounts he is a sound technical wrestler, but really hasnt received a "push".
This may be because of rumored attitude problems backstage.

Here is a video from YouTube of Billy Boy, Pegasso and Super Fly wrestling Gran Apache, Gallego and Cóndor

Sean Waltman / X-Pac

X-Pac-lucha libre

It seems like I have done write ups on Sean Waltman on every wrestling blog I have.
TNA, WWF / WWE, WSX, but he gets an entry here too.

Sean Waltman was born on July 13, 1972 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I think he has wrestled for almost every major wrestling promotion in the world since his pro wrestling debut back on March 16, 1992.

In Lucha Libre he is known as 6-Pac or X-Pac (out of the myriad of names he has wrestled under) and wrestles for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA).
As far as I can tell, he first showed up there back in 2007, as a member of Konnan's Foreign Legion.
His manager was his girlfriend Alicia Webb (Ryan Shamrock).

X-Pac left Asistencia Asesoría y Administración for a time to re-enter rehab back in mid 2008, but returned towrads the end of 2008, turning on the Foreign Legion and creating D-Generation Mex.
D-Generation Mex was comprised of X-Pac, Rocky "Azúcar" Romero and Alex Koslov.
Both Romero and Koslov came from rival wrestling promotion CMLL to join the stable.

More On The Shocking Death Of A Former TNA Star

More On The Shocking Death Of A Former TNA Star:

"Andrés Alejandro Palomeque González, better known as Abismo Negro in AAA, was found dead in a river in Mexico yesterday. The lucha wrestler was 37.

No definite cause of death has been determined as of yet, nor has foul play been ruled out.

According to a bus driver who was transporting González and other passengers to Mexico City, González became agitated, almost panicked and demanded to be let off the bus despite it being 1:30 in the morning. After leaving the bus, González found himself lost on the dark hillside, confirmed by a text message he sent to his wife. After receiving the text, his wife contacted local wrestling promoter Vicente Martinez, who organized a search party."

Luchador, Vampiro

Ian Richard Hodgkinson does not sound like your usual luchador's name.
But his ring name Vampiro is known all over Mexico and the US.

Ian was born on May 31, 1967 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
He started out wrestling for International Wrestling in Montreal, Quebec in 1984.
Vampiro made his lucha libre debut on February 12, 1991 at the Arena México.
He moved to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1998.
When the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) purchased WCW in 2001, Vampiro was out, so he headed to CMLL.
During that time he also wrestled for Rob Black's XPW, had a tour with All Japan Pro Wrestling, a brief stint with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and finally wound up back in Mexico working for the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) wrestling promotion.

Vampiro went to the MTV wrestling show Wrestling Society X (WSX) but finally wound up back in AAA after WSX folded.

In his Lucha Libre career, he won the Rey de Reyes in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración in 2006, the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and the FILL Heavyweight Championship in Federación Internacional de Lucha Libre.

A documentary on his life titled "Vampiro: Angel, Devil, Hero" made it's US debut in early March 2009.

He was born Gilbert Cosme on May 25, 1976 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
Ricky began his wrestling career in the International Wrestling Association (IWA) in Puerto Rico.
While he was there, he won the IWA Hardcore Championship nine times, the IWA Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship twice, the IWA World Heavyweight Championship five times and the IWA World Tag Team Championship five times (three times with Gran Apolo, once with Glamour Boy Shane and once with Cruzz).

Ricky went back to IWA, then returned to AAA as Mesias.
There, he became the first wrestler to win the AAA World Heavyweight Championship.
During that time, Ricky hooked up with the American wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and debuted with them as Judas Mesias in September 2007.
In March of 2008 his run with TNA came to an end and he went back to focusing his time on AAA.

His ring name "Ricky Banderas" is a fusion of Latin musician Ricky Martín and actor Antonio Banderas.

Besides the titles in IWA, WSX and his AAA World Heavyweight Championship, Ricky has held the GPCW Super-X Monster Championship and the IWC World Heavyweight Championship.

In the beginning, while doing his wrestling training in Puerto Rico, Ricky attended the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in Bayamón, and completed two years of study in computer technology.

Teddy Hart

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Theodore Annis was born 0n February 2, 1980, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
A third generation member of the Hart wrestling family, he is better known in the wrestling ring as Teddy Hart.
His wrestling pedigree is amazing, not only was he born into the Hart family, but he was trained by Ross Hart, Bruce Hart, Leo Burke and Dory Funk Jr.
Teddy was the youngest wrestler ever signed by the WWE.
He made his Lucha Libre debut on November 30, 2007, wrestling for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA).
Teddy is a member of Konnan's heel stable La Legión Extranjera (the Foreign Legion) .
He regularly tag-teams with Jack Evans as The Hart Foundation 2.0.
Part of his heel gimmick is that he can't speak Spanish, so during his shoot promos, AAA captions his dialogue in Spanish.

Cesar is the son of the famous Dr. Wagner, and the brother of Dr. Wagner, Jr.
He was trained by Dr. Wagner and Grand Markus and he made his pro wrestling debut in November 1985, in Matamoros, Coahuila.
Silver King lost his mask to El Hijo del Santo on November 13th, 1987 at Auditorio de Tijuana, in Tijuana, Baja California.

Luchador: Rocky Romero

Luchador: Rocky Romero

John R. Rivera was born on October 28, 1982 in Havana, Cuba.
He is better known by his wrestling name Rocky Romero and as the fourth Black Tiger.
In 2003, Rocky began working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
Rocky became the first ever CMLL World Super Lightweight Champion after beating Volador Jr. in a tournament final on September 12, 2003. He has gone on to hold the belt 3 times and is the current champion.
Which is a little awkward because on October 5, 2008, Rocky jumped from CMLL to rival promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) while still holding the CMLL belt and became a member of Sean Waltman's D-Generation MEX stable.
So what happens to the belt?

Nicho el Millonario / Psicosis

What's in a name?
Well when you follow luchador Psicosis, a name can get a little confusing.
Is it Psicosis?
Or Psychosis?
Or Psichosis?
Or is he Nicho el Millonario?
Either way he was born Dionicio Castellanos Torres on May 19, 1971 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
Psicosis was trained by Fobia and Rey Misterio, Sr.
He made his pro wrestling debut as El Salvaje on March 10, 1989 in his hometown Tijuana.
Nicho El Millionaro is the name he is wrestling under now in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración.
The name began when he was working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
He had to take it because when Psicosis left AAA originally and went to the WCW, AAA booker Antonio Peña claimed ownership to the Psicosis name and gimmick, creating Psicosis II.
In Lucha Libre, he has had feuds with El Hijo del Santo, Rey Mysterio, Jr., La Parka, Juventud Guerrera, and Fuerza Guerrera.
